How You Can Help
Spread the word that it's important to keep supporting the GIRLS in Girl Scouting, but until the board decides to work with the membership, hold off on buying Girl Scout cookies.
Word of mouth is the best. Most people want to support Girl Scouts and will buy a box or two to help out the girls. Let your family, friends, and co-workers know that girls only get around 70 cents per package of cookies. And that the rest of the profit goes to support the council office which is trying to sell camps even though they have enough money to keep them .
Post fliers at your library, grocery store, & work. Take some to churches, to meetings, to bowling alleys, to bars. Pass them out when you go to sports events. ANYWHERE people gather.
Post a sign in your front yard. Go to the Contact Us page to ask for one.
Need a speaker for your Kiwanis, Rotary, or other meeting? No need to take sides! A speaker can come to your meeting to with an informational presentation about the cookie boycott, and the events that led up to it. Go to the Contact Us page to arrange for a speaker.
TROOP LEADERS- you are under a lot of pressure from the council office to sell cookies. That's why this campaign is directed to the public. Watch for more infomation on how you can stay on the sidelines but still allow your troop to benefit from donations.
GIRLS: This is a justice issue that affects YOU. Watch this space for A Girls' Guide to Boycott
